Those of us who are parents now grew up in a time when children’s television programming and children’s movies were filled with morals and principals. Nearly every show taught us (at least a little bit) what is good and what is evil. G.I. Joe is still brought up to this day in our pop culture because of its “Knowing is Half the Battle” moral messages that appeared at the end of each episode.

Nowadays its easy to think that our own kids are afforded the same quality programming we once were, but that is just not the case. The world has become┬ácrazy. Black and white moral truths that were once common sense have been replaced with a “do what you want” / “born this way” / “I’m ok, you’re ok” moral fluidity. We can’t fall into the trap of assuming the world is how our nostalgia remembers the past.
