It can be a challenge to say grace before meals in public – or even in private with your family – but this is a great habit to get into. Your relationship with God is more important than what other people think of you. Besides, crossing yourself and praying in the middle of a Five Guys is a great witness!
Grace doesn’t have to be just about food. The more we realize how much God loves us, the more we should be thankful to God for everything that we have and do (which is exactly the point of our latest Chesterton cartoon!)
So I challenge you today. Say grace before eating. Eating with friends? Invite them to say grace as well. What’s the worst that can happen? It’s ok if they decline.
